AIIMS Bhopal celebrated its 12th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and pride at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium. Despite the unavoidable absence of Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, as the chief guest, his heartfelt best wishes were conveyed to Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal.
Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his optimism towards the transformative potential of AIIMS Bhopal under the dynamic leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh. He hoped for collaborative efforts towards implementing the 'One State One Health Policy,' aiming to position Madhya Pradesh as the pioneer state in this transformative initiative.
Welcoming the guests, Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh presented a comprehensive report highlighting the institution's remarkable achievements over the past year and a half. AIIMS Bhopal has witnessed unprecedented progress, including milestones such as kidney and bone marrow transplants, the establishment of a transgender clinic, delivery of medicines to remote areas facilitated by drones, and significant enhancements in digital healthcare infrastructure. Key highlights of the achievements include: 56% increase in OPD patients, 170% rise in emergency cases, and 53% increase in beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Notable improvements in bed occupancy from 62% to 77%. AIIMS Bhopal leads in data linkage and digitization among all AIIMS institutes.
Dr. Sunil Malik, President of AIIMS Bhopal, emphasized the institution's commitment to setting high standards in healthcare under Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh's visionary leadership. We should make every effort to provide better health services to every citizen. The foundation day oration was delivered by Prof. Nishi Pandey of Lucknow University. She said that today we need to create confidence in the minds of people. We work with full dedication towards the patient. The amount of money that the government spends today in making you a doctor, you also need to see how you can provide your services to the society. If you create confidence in the patient then it will be your biggest achievement.
