Accelerate the redevelopment works of AMRUT stations: GM

Under the Amrit Station Scheme, the Railway Administration is determined to speed up the infrastructural works for the redevelopment of railway stations.

In this series, West Central Railway General Manager, Shobhana Bandopadhyay organized a meeting with the major department heads and Divisional Railway Managers of Jabalpur, Bhopal and Kota divisions on Friday.

The meeting took stock of the progress of the ongoing redevelopment works at 53 railway stations of West Central Railway under the Amrit Station Scheme.

After getting complete information about the progress of the work at stations in all three divisions, the General Manager gave necessary instructions to complete them within the stipulated time period. The information about the stations being redeveloped in West Central Railway is as follows:-

Stations of Jabalpur division:- Jabalpur, Satna, Katni, Maihar, Damoh, Kareli, Beohari, Rewa, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Katni Mudwara, Pipariya, Gadarwara, Sihora Road, Shridham, Katni South, and Bargawan railway stations are included.

Stations of Bhopal division:- Bhopal, Bina, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Ganjbasoda, Vidisha, Ashok Nagar, Ruthiyai, Biaora Rajgarh, Sanchi, Shajapur, Khirkiya, Banapura, Itarsi, Guna, Narmadapuram, Harda and Shivpuri railway stations are included.

Stations of Kota Division:- Kota, Dakania Talav, Bharatpur, Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur, Ramganjmandi, Bhawani Mandi, Shamgarh, Vikramgarh Alot, Bayana, Hindon City, Shri Mahavir Ji, Baran, Chhabra Gugor, Bundi, Mandalgarh, Jhalawar City, Garoth and Chaumahla. Railway station is included.     Under this scheme, along with improvement and beautification of station building by incorporating elements of local art and culture, station frontage, circulating area, second entrance and arrival/departure building are also being redeveloped. This also includes new roads, footpaths, parking and easy transportation facilities for the station access road. Stations are being made disabled friendly, under which facilities like disabled toilets and ramps etc. are being ensured at every station. Along with the provision of foot over bridge, there is also proper provision of high level platform, better surface, covered shed, improved waiting room and toilets etc. For the convenience of the passengers, facilities like advanced furniture, standard sign boards, tourist convenience counter, medical facilities, drinking water system, ticketing system, food stalls, public announcement system, charging points and help booths will also be provided.    

The redevelopment plan of the stations will also lead to economic and social progress of the area. With the development of the railway station, there will be immense possibilities for the development of tourism in the area and new opportunities will be available in the fields of employment, education, medicine and business.
