The 53rd National Safety Day was celebrated in a befitting manner by SAIL Safety Organization, Ranchi on 4th March 2023 in ISPAT Bhawan, SAIL Ranchi. On this auspicious day, National Safety Council (NSC) was set up in the year 1966 and the first National Safety Day (NSD) campaign was launched in 1972 on the foundation day of the council.
Safety badges were pinned for creating awareness among the employees. The event was marked by hoisting of ceremonial safety flag in front of ISPAT Bhawan by Asish Chakraborty, Executive Director,(SSO with additional charge of HRD), Nirvik Banerjee,Executive Director(I/c), RDCIS and Sandip Kumar Kar, Executive Director, RDCIS in the presence of senior officers & employees of SAIL, Ranchi units.
Safety pledge was administered by ED (SSO, with additional charge of HRD) & ED (I/c), RDCIS in English & Hindi respectively to employees present on this occasion. Abhishek Kumar, AGM, SSO compered the programme and gave inputs on the importance of the National Safety Day (NSD), various activities & initiatives being taken by SAIL to improve safety performance across the organization. Awards for different competitions like quiz, essay & slogan held for employees of Ranchi Based SAIL units were given on this occasion.
