50 lakh women to be covered under JMMSY: Secretary

While giving information about the Mukhyamantri Mainiyaan Samman Yojana, Secretary of Women, Child Development and Social Security Department Manoj Kumar said that the benefit of this scheme will be given to women between 21 years and 50 years. Under the Mainiyaan scheme, the government will give Rs 12 thousand per year to every woman. He was talking to journalists in the auditorium of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations today.

The Secretary said that work is being done in mission mode to cover women under the Mainiyaan scheme. About 50 lakh women of the state will be able to get benefit from this scheme. He said that camps are being organized at the district level to make the scheme successful. For this, orders have been given to DSWO, ADSS, CDPO of all the districts at the departmental level. The portal of this scheme has been prepared by JAP IT. The scheme has been launched by the hands of the Chief Minister and a total of 2582 applications have been received till 4 pm on the first day. Due to slow network in uploading the application, some technical difficulties were faced which have been removed.

Kumar said that the application will be verified only through the portal prepared by JAP IT. He informed that 36 thousand hits have been received in the portal in just one hour and about 15 lakh hits have been received in a day. Therefore, we hope that the Mainiyaan scheme will also prove to be an effective step in the upliftment of the women of the state.

Manoj Kumar said that camps are being set up in all the districts of the state and about 800-1000 people are coming to each camp. Also, an awareness chariot has been dispatched on August 2 to create awareness about this scheme in each district. Monitoring is being done at the departmental level under the guidance of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Giving information, the Secretary said that the benefit of Mainiyaan scheme will be given to those women between 21 years to 50 years who are not taking benefit of any other pension scheme. To take advantage of Mainiyaan Saman Yojana, it is necessary to have Aadhar card, ration card, EPIC card, Aadhar linked bank account and to be a resident of Jharkhand. Application forms are available online and applications can be submitted for the month of August through the portal from 21st August.

Additional Secretary of the Department Abhay Nandan Ambasht, Director Shashi Prakash Jha, Assistant Director Priyanka Srivastava, Assistant Director Shatrunjay Kumar, JAP IT Niranjan Kumar, Anupam from CAC were present in the press conference.
