Five youths have been arrested for buying and selling brown sugar from Central Bank Lane located in Sukhdev Nagar Police Station area.
A police team led by Kotwali Dy SP Prakash Soy took action and arrested Aryan Kumar Singh, Gautam Kumar Yadav, Shailesh Kumar alias Gandhi, Harsh Kumar and Himanshu. 15.19 grams of brown sugar was recovered from all of them.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, City SP Rajkumar Mehta said that information was received about illegal buying and selling of narcotics in Akhil Memorial School Central Bank Lane located in Sukhdev Nagar Police Station area, after which the police team conducted a raid.
"Himanshu Yadav alias Lalu Yadav, Aryan Kumar Singh, Gautam Kumar Yadav were caught while trying to flee after seeing the police force. All the three accused admitted that the plastic packet contained brown sugar as a narcotic substance. Based on the information provided by these accused, a raid was conducted at the house of Harsh Kumar Sharma and Harsh and Shailesh were arrested from there," Mehta said.
