Chatra police have achieved a big success on Friday as three militants of TSPC have been arrested.

The Police arrested Area Commander, Manoj Ganjhu alias Surendra alias Irfan, resident of Karma village of Manatu police station area of Palamu district, Sub-Zonal Commander, Mahendra Ganjhu alias Palta of Hutru village of Lawalaung police station area and Chhotu Bhuiyan alias Pandit alias Baba of Godkali of Hunterganj police station area.

One INSAS loaded rifle, three magazines, 161 rounds of live cartridges, one loaded SLR, two magazines, 164 rounds of live bullets, one AK-47 magazine and 30 rounds of live bullets were recovered from the militants. This information was given by Chatra SP Vikas Kumar Pandey in a press conference in his office room located in the Collectorate on Friday.

Pandey said that secret information was received that TSPC commanders Mahendra Ganjhu, Kunal Ganjhu, Irfan Ganjhu along with their squad have gathered in the forest area of Sikidag Kojaram in Kunda, Chatra-Palamu border area, to carry out a major incident. A raid team was formed under the leadership of Simaria SDPO to take necessary action on the information.

The SP said that the police team took immediate action and reached near Meruhaniyatand Naridari river west of Sikidag, the armed militants started running away on seeing the police. “During this, three militants were arrested. Other militants managed to escape by taking advantage of the jungle. In this regard, a case was registered in Kunda police station under Arms Act, CLA Act and other sections and all were sent to jail,” he added.

All the three arrested militants have a criminal history. Several cases are registered against Mahendra in Barkagaon, Karakatta, Hazaribagh's Mufassil, Katkamsandi, against Manoj in Kunda, Sadar police station, against Chotu Bhuiyan in Sadar police station.

Apart from Simaria SDO, Ajay Kumar Keshari, Pratappur police station's SI, Awadhesh Singh, Kunda police station In-Charge, Sanoj Kumar Chaudhary, SI, Rupesh Kumar and several jawans were included in the raiding team.
