1st Space Day celebrated in Bhopal’s Subhash Excellence School

National Space Day was celebrated in the schools of the state today. On this occasion, programmes were organised on a large scale in the schools. On August 23, 2023, Chandrayaan-3 Vikram Lander was successfully landed on the South Pole of the Moon. To commemorate this important achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced to celebrate this day as Space Day every year. In this context, Space Day was celebrated today. In this regard, the School Education Department had also issued instructions to the District Education Officers.

Youth should prepare for the oppurtunities in space science

The first National Space Day was celebrated in Subhash Excellence School, Bhopal. In the morning assembly of Subhash School, senior teachers Ekta Pathak, Seema Mathur and Diwan Singh connected the children with the programme held at the Regional Science Centre at Shyamla Hills through virtual classroom.

Through the programme, renowned retired scientist of Mumbai's Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Prof. Mayank Vahia gave important information to the children on the subject of Indian Space Research Programme, past, present and future.

He told that research is being conducted continuously in space science. Youth will get good opportunities in this field. For this, children should prepare for this subject from now.

The programme was organised at the National Institute of Technical Teacher Training and Research located in Shyamla Hills, Bhopal. 160 master trainers from the State Education Centre and 10 SRGs of the State Research Group participated in the programme.

Much important information related to space science was given in the programme. It was told in the programme that space science is now being used in many areas in the world. Through satellites, information on every subject is being quickly delivered to all the concerned groups. This has made the life of a person easier.

The participants were told that the information related to mineral discovery, weather and natural disasters obtained from the satellites is being utilized effectively. In the programme held in schools, children asked teachers the questions related to space science which were resolved.
