1st phase of election trumpets to stop today evening

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ravi Kumar, on Sunday, said that the election campaign for the first phase will end on Monday evening and where the voting is till 5 pm, the election campaign will end 48 hours before at 5 pm on Monday at 4 pm.

 

Kumar said that with the end of the election campaign, the political people who went there for election work will have to leave from there. If such people are caught after the end of the campaign period, action will be taken against them as per the rules. "On Monday, election personnel will be sent to 225 booths through helidropping in five districts West Singhbhum, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla and Garhwa. He was addressing a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan, Dhurwa on Sunday," he said.

 

The CEO said that on the day of voting, the candidates set up their camps at the polling centers, for which it is mandatory to take prior permission from the competent officer. "The camp should be outside the 200 meter radius of the polling station. The camp cannot be set up at a religious place or encroached place. There will also be a ban on putting flags, banners, symbols, photos etc. related to the candidate in that camp. Candidates can keep only one table and two chairs in the camp. Eating and drinking will also be prohibited there. There is also a ban on returning to the camp after voting. He appealed to all the candidates to ensure that they follow the rules of the Election Commission," he said.

 

Kumar appealed to the voters to carry the voter slip for voting. "Those who have not received the voter slip should contact the BAO or volunteer at the polling station and take a token, so that they can be facilitated in voting. In case of not having a voter ID card, the voter will exercise his franchise after identifying the voter with 12 types of other valid identity documents," he said.

 

The CEO said that 53 cases of violation of the Model Code of Conduct have been registered so far. Out of these, the maximum 28 cases have been in Garhwa district. Since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in the state, illegal material and cash worth Rs 176.15 crore has been seized so far, he said.
