Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that benefits under Prime Minister's Tribal Justice Campaign (PM Jan-Man Yojana) are being made available for 11.3 lakh members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The initiatives under the Jan Man campaign of the Prime Minister aim to bring the PVTGs—Baiga, Bharia, and Sahariya tribes—into the mainstream by constant efforts for their socio-economic upgrade.
The chief minister said that nearly 5500 villages will be covered under the initiative which draws on nine central and state ministries to provide 11 critical services for the development of these settlements.
Yadav announced that the campaign will include new health centres, hostels, multipurpose centres, roads, bridges, and housing and incur an investment of Rs 7,300 crore in 24 districts. Additionally, new Anganwadi centres are being established in areas lacking such facilities, and efforts are being made to provide permanent housing for eligible PVTG families, improve access routes, and develop skill training centres.
The "Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Development Campaign" has also been launched to ensure overall development for PVTGs and other tribal communities across 11,377 tribal-majority villages. This initiative involves 18 ministries providing 25 types of services, covering the entire tribal population of the state.
While the Jan Man initiative covers 5481 PVTG dominated villages in 139 development blocks across 24 districts in the state, the 'Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Development Campaign' covers the entire state.
The plan outlay for the PVTG specific scheme stands at Rs. 7300 crores for the provision of 11 critical services under nine state and central ministries and departments.
The 'Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Development Campaign' covers 25 amenities under 18 state and central ministries and departments, benefiting 18.58 lakh families with over 93 lakh individuals.
