NZ edges closer to victory after 36 years in spite of Sarfaraz, Pant fight

In a stunning display of fight two men stood at the crease, Sarfaraz Khan resumes the day four with a score of (70) along with left hand batsmen Rishabh Pant who started his innings from day 4 after Virat dismissal on last ball of day three.

The Right-Left combination of batters piled up 113 runs on the morning session of day both Sarfaraz and Rishabh took India to strong position after first innings failure on day one. Rishabh who struck 53 unbeaten and Sarfaraz who score his maiden century at crucial stage of the match scoring 125 not out from 154 balls with 16 fours and three sixes before rain interrupted the play.

Two batters gave India a strong hand to make a comeback in this match after 177 runs partnership between the duo got broke down with the wicket of Sarfaraz Khan on a mammoth score of 150 runs by Tim Southee and Rishabh Pant who misses out his 7th test century by one run (99).

Their innings gave a hope before their dismissals, but their dismissals gave a significant decline for the hosts. Resuming the day's play at 438 for six after tea India's last 4 wickets just contributed  29 runs, KL Rahul who's poor form continues in second innings, got cheaply knock down again by William ORourke with 12 runs on his bank.

New Zealand bowlers shines again and India lost seven wickets for 54 runs with tall bowlers Matt Henry and William O'Rourke getting advantange of extra bounce and movement off the Chinnaswamy surface.

New Zealand openers begin their chase with Tom Latham and Devon Conway yet to open their accounts, rain brought an early end to the day's play with the visitors playing just four balls in the second innings, After the disintegrated lower order performance India managed to gave 107 runs to New Zealand to win the bengaluru test match.

Tom Latham's team is on the verge of creating history of winning the test match in India after 36 years. The last time New Zealand won a Test match in India was way back in 1989 when Sir Richard Hadlee got 10 wickets at the Wankhede to ensure a huge 136-run win.
