Dancing drones will light up Ayodhya’s night sky this Deepotsav

Lights mounted on 500 drones will showcase key episodes from the Ramayana

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is all set to enhance the grandeur of Deepotsav in Ayodhya with a stunning aerial drone show. The event will feature a captivating display of 500 drones equipped with colourful lights, set to illuminate Ayodhya’s night sky.

The 15-minute show, a major highlight of the Deepotsav celebrations, will showcase the prowess of Made-in-India drones. Attendees can expect to witness a breathtaking presentation of the ‘veer mudra’ of Lord Ram, Laxman, and Hanuman, brought to life through a combination of laser lights, voiceovers, and musical narration.

The show will also include dynamic displays depicting key episodes from the Ramayana, such as Ravan Vadh, the Pushpak Viman, scenes from Deepotsav, Ram Darbar, Valmiki, Tulsidas, and the Ram Temple. “The mesmerising visuals promise to enthral the audience, with the logos of Deepotsav, the UP government, and the tourism department also projected onto the sky,” the government spokesman said.

This year’s Deepotsav holds special significance as it marks the first celebration since the idol of Lord Ramlala was enshrined in the grand temple. To make this occasion unforgettable, meticulous preparations are underway to ensure the drone show meets international standards.

A full rehearsal is scheduled for October 29, one day before the main event, to ensure flawless coordination and precise drone formations. The grand show will take place at the iconic Ram Ki Paidi.

The drone show will feature 15 distinct formations in the sky. To execute this, a detailed storyboard with animations will be prepared and submitted to the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department for approval. Various elements such as concept development, screenplay, background music composition, voiceovers, narration, and laser light effects are being meticulously crafted to support the aerial displays.

In addition to the drone show, Ram Ki Paidi will host a laser light and sound presentation that highlights the inspiring moments from the life of Lord Shri Ram. While daily laser and sound shows are a regular attraction at Ram Ki Paidi, this special presentation during Deepotsav remains a centrepiece of the festivities.

Complementing the drone spectacle, a sound and laser display featuring artistically crafted green firecrackers will further elevate the atmosphere, lighting up the skies above Ayodhya and the event venue, making this Deepotsav a memorable celebration for all.
