US woman found tied to tree in Maha forest

The Maharashtra police are investigating the mystery surrounding a 50-year-old woman of an Indian origin with a copy of US passport and other documents who was found chained to a tree in the forests of Karadi in Sindhudurg district in Konkan region during the weekend.

Identified as one Lalita Kayi-Kumari, the woman ---wearing brown trousers and a dark windcheater –was found crying for help by a few shepherds who alerted the Banda Police station in Sindhudurg district on Saturday evening.

Since she was in a bad shape because of lack of food and water for the past few days, the woman was rushed to the Goa Medical College & Hospital, Bambolim for treatment.
