Guru Nanak Dev University has been on the path of improving its rankings consistently since past seven years or so. In the most recent 'The WEEK-HANSA Research Survey 2024', it has been adjudged among the top 15 Best Universities in the country. It has improved its all India ranking from 23rd in 2017 to 15th in 2024 in the said survey. It is the only state funded multidisciplinary university to have jumped to 7th position in 2024 from 14th position in 2017 in the State of Punjab. Its high quality inclusive and conducive environment for academics, research, professionalism, cocurricular, and extra-cocurricular activities has been the hallmark of its success.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu has congratulated the faculty, researchers, and staff of the university to have attained this achievement. He expressed that only the sincere and consistent efforts of the stakeholders of any institution can bring laurels to glorify its achievements He cited that GNDU is the only multi-specialty State University of Northern Region (Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh) to attain such remarkable achievements. He said that all-round efforts have been made in the last seven years or so to build state-of-the-art infrastructure for to upscale the quality academics, research, and cocurricular activities to earn name and fame at the national and international levels.
