In his address to the people of the state on the occasion of the Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that geographical boundaries between states should not limit the welfare of the citizenry.

Attributing the initiative to a resolution by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yadav outlined the manner in which his government approached the Ken-Betwa Nadi Jodo Paroyojana and the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project. The interstate Ken-Betwa river interlinking project is the first river interlinking project in the country.

Yadav said that the cases pending for the approval of the Parvati-Chambal-Kalisindh project between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for 20 years have now been approved.

He said that the approval by the Central Government will accelerate the pace of development in large regions of the state.

Promising to leave no stone unturned in the quest for fulfilling the pledge of rapid development made by Prime Minister Modi, Yadav said the Ken-Betwa project will provide irrigation and water facilities to citizens and farmers on a large scale in Bundelkhand.

The Chief Minister was addressing the 69th Foundation Day celebrations of Madhya Pradesh at Ravindra Sabhagam today. Many public representatives attended the event. Congratulating the people of the state, Yadav said that a long journey has been covered since the establishment of Madhya Pradesh in 1956.

Invoking divinity, Yadav expressed happiness that the state foundation day coincided with Diwali. The festive season in the state includes four-day Foundation Day celebrations and five-day Diwali festivities. Madhya Pradesh is fortunate that Maryada Purushottam Lord Rama spent most of his time in Chitrakoot. Lord Krishna also came to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh to pursue education, said the Chief Minister.

Describing the state as the 'Motherland of Rivers,' Yadav underlined the abundance of minerals in the state. He said that the boundaries of 55 districts in the state will soon be redrawn. Along with the boundaries of the districts, the boundaries of the divisions will also change. Reorganization-related work has not been done at this level in the state in 68 years. Chief Minister Yadav vowed that the Madhya Pradesh government will leave no stone unturned for development.

Yadav said that until 2005, there were only five medical colleges in the state, but now the number has increased to 20. Prime Minister Modi has recently inaugurated three new medical colleges in the state. The number of medical colleges will increase to 28 in the next two years. He said that work is also being done on a PPP model, through which there will be 40 medical colleges in the state. In the coming years, there will be a medical college in every district.

Chief Minister Yadav congratulated the citizens present on the Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh and Diwali, and called upon them to enjoy the musical programme organized under the direction of renowned playback singer Ankit Tiwari from Mumbai. Singer Suhasini Joshi presented the Madhya Pradesh anthem. Yadav also released a film based on Madhya Pradesh tourism.
