A lower court in Kolkata on Friday allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI's) application for conducting a polygraph test --- usually called lie-detection test --- on the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital Sandip Ghosh, and five others including four medical colleagues of the victim lady doctor who was allegedly raped and murdered in the small hours of August 9 and a civic volunteer who has been a friend of Sanjoy Das the prime accused in the case.
The order comes a day after the Supreme Court directed the Sealdah Court to take a decision on the CBI's application within a day. The grant of permission to conduct the polygraph test notwithstanding the day of such date has not been fixed as yet.
