Chinese electric carmaker launched their latest product, the eMAX 7 in the Indian market. This Multi-Person Vehicle (MPV) that will replace the e6 in India. One of the vehicle’s notable changes over the outgoing model is the integration of the 8-in-1 electric powertrain from BYD’s highly acclaimed e-platform 3.0 and two seating options of 6 or 7 seats.
The vehicle comes in two variants, Superior and Premium, with 6- and 7-seater options for both. While the Superior variant comes with a battery pack of 71.8 kWh, the Premium variant packs a 55.4 kWh battery pack, returning 530 km and 420 km of range according to European testing standards. Prices for the vehicle start at 26.9 lakh and go up to 29.9 lakh.
The largest Chinese New Energy Vehicle (NEV) carmaker, BYD recently sold its 9 millionth vehicle worldwide and is on the cusp of reaching the 10 million mark. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles, BYD India, said, “The launch of the BYD eMAX 7 is testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability. This electric MPV is not just a vehicle; it’s a revolution in how progressive families experience travel.”
Currently, BYD sells only a limited range of products in India, the Atto 3, e6 and Seal alongside this new vehicle and has 27 showrooms across 23 cities in India. Plans by the Chinese carmaker to expand operations in India along with their partner Megha Engineering were halted by the government last year.
