Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister  Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating Dinesh  Sharma as the candidate for bypoll to the lone Rajya Sabha seat in the state. Sharma  on Tuesday filed his nomination for the by-election to the Rajya Sabha seat in UP which went vacant in June after the demise of BJP MP Hardwar Dubey. Sharma is all set to be declared unopposed as only one nomination was filed on the last day of nomination.
Addressing party officials and workers at the BJP headquarters on the occasion, CM Yogi said: “Today is Teacher’s’ Day and on this occasion, Dinesh Sharma, a teacher, is going to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha by-election. While congratulating all of you on Teachers’ Day, I congratulate him too from the bottom of my heart.”
Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and party’s state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary were also present on the occasion. Yogi commended Dinesh Sharma for his outstanding work in various capacities within the organisation, both as a regular party worker and as the national vice-president of the party. He also acknowledged Dinesh Sharma’s excellent work during his tenure as the Lucknow mayor.
The chief minister further said, “Between 2017 and 2022, after the Bharatiya Janata Party  came to power in Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh  Sharma carried out the responsibilities of the deputy CM along with overseeing the departments of Secondary and Higher Education, Science and Technology, and Electronics and IT. During this period, he took significant steps to improve the education sector as well.”
Yogi mentioned that Dinesh Sharma has always been connected with the values and principles of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “On this occasion, I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda and the entire Union Cabinet and party for nominating Dinesh Sharma as a Rajya Sabha candidate,” he added.
