XLRI Jamshedpur announces cut-off percentile

Monday, 06 February 2023 | PNS | Jamshedpur

XAT 2023 results were declared on January 29, 2023 and XLRI - Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, has announced the cut-off marks for Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2023 for postgraduate courses in Business Management and Human Resource Management on its official website.

For the Human Resource Management program, the overall cut off for male engineering candidates is 93 percentile while that for female engineering students is 91 percentile. Male applicants from a non-engineering background require a 90 percentile and women from a non-engineering background must have 88 percentile.

For the Business Management program, the overall cut off for male engineering candidates is 95 percentile while that for female engineering students is 92 percentile. Male applicants from a non-engineering background require a 95 percentile and women from a non-engineering background must have 92 percentile.

Continuing with its tradition to encourage women’s education, XLRI has lowered the cut-off for women candidates as compared to men. “For increasing the diversity, the lower cut off is assigned to the non-engineering candidates and the female candidates for both the BM & HRM programs. XLRI being a socially responsible institution, the underprivileged communities have also been assigned the lower cutoffs. XLRI interview call letters will be sent on 6th February, 2023”, said Prof Vishwa Ballabh, XAT 2023 Convenor.

It is expected that XLRI will interview around 2500-3000 candidates for 2023-2025 admissions for various programs of both the campuses. The PGDM (GM) program interviews are reaching a concluding stage. For the programs like IEV and Double Master’s Program, the cut off will be decided later in consultation with the program addressing specific needs of the programs.

XAT cut-off percentiles for XLRI admission are based on several factors. The three main determining factors are the number of candidates appearing for XAT that year, the difficulty level of the XAT question paper and the number of seats available. XLRI has been conducting XAT on behalf of XAMI to select the most suitable students for management education. Though one of the oldest competitive examinations in the country, XAT has always kept pace with the cutting-edge testing methodology. XAT’s multidimensional testing framework strives to assess the aptitude of candidates for business management education meaningfully. XAT has a multi-pronged examination structure and in-built fairness to evaluate candidates aspiring to be future business leaders.
