Who’s who Applaud ISRO, Region Witnesses Historic Chandrayaan-3 Landing

Across the nation, euphoria and pride reverberate as India achieves yet another remarkable milestone in its space journey with the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface. From political leaders to educational institutions, citizens from all walks of life are uniting to celebrate this momentous achievement that signifies India's growing prowess in the field of space exploration.

 

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann hailed the landing as a “Red Letter Day of History”, expressing his heartfelt congratulations to both the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientists and the entire nation for this marvelous accomplishment, which showed the power of India to the world.

 

Witnessing this proud moment to become a reality through television, the overwhelmed Chief Minister said that now this is the proven fact that India is going to become a world power in near future and our scientists made the nation proud. “It is a blissful moment for all fellow Indians, which opened a new window to explore life on the Moon. With this remarkable feat, India became the first country to softly land a spacecraft on the Moon’s South Pole,” he said.

 

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar echoed the sentiments of pride and achievement, lauding the ISRO scientists “as the country has taken another giant leap in space exploration”.

 

Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for consistently encouraging and inspiring the ISRO scientists, Khattar said that it is due to the hard work of our scientists that we have achieved this feat today. This is a moment of pride for every Indian, as our Chandrayaan-3 has touched down on the lunar surface, fulfilling the anticipation of the entire nation, he said.

 

“Notably, the world was also keenly watching this significant mission of India, which has now etched its name in history. The Chief Minister highlighted that this accomplishment is not just India's but a triumph for all of humanity,” he said, adding that the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon signifies India's prowess in space exploration and its commitment to advancing scientific knowledge on a global scale.

 

Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also hailed the brilliance of Indian scientists. “Heartfelt congratulations to the remarkable team behind Chandrayaan, ISRO, and our brilliant scientists, including India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, whose establishment of INCOSPAR in 1962 laid the cornerstone for India's space aspirations. This historic achievement showcases our nation's potential and the role of dreams & science in driving innovation — a feat that unites humanity,” he tweeted.

 

The live broadcast of the landing event was also witnessed by UT Administrator and Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit and other officials at PG Government College for Girls Sector-42, Chandigarh. As Chandrayaan-3 safely touched down on the lunar surface, cheers of joy erupted, and Governor Purohit congratulated ISRO for this historic achievement. He emphasized that India's success signifies a new chapter in the nation's space research sector and paves the way for a self-reliant India in space exploration.

 

At the onset of the live telecast, Adviser to the UT Administrator Dharam Pal gave a detailed presentation about the technical aspects of the Chandrayaan Mission and answered queries of students related to this mission. The enthralled audience watched the live scenes from ISRO.

 

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, accompanied by students from Punjab Government schools, also celebrated the historic moment by conveying their heartfelt wishes to the ISRO scientists and the nation. Enthusiastic students across the State engaged in creating posters, slogans, paintings, and human chains to express their pride and anticipation for the Chandrayaan-3 mission. Minister Bains highlighted the significance of this mission in sparking scientific curiosity and igniting discussions among the younger generation.

 

In the day-long events in the schools, while expressing their excitement, students said that this historic event of Chandrayaan 3’s moon landing has filled them with immense pride and fervor. “We were eagerly looking forward to witnessing this historic achievement and we all are immensely proud of our scientists,” the students said.

 

At Panjab University, Chandigarh, the Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF) organized a live landing event for Chandrayaan-3, drawing over 100 students, researchers, faculty, and staff in a shared moment of pride and enthusiasm.

 

The event, presided over by the varsity’s Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig, showcased the institution's commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and engagement. The celebratory atmosphere was punctuated by the distribution of sweets, encapsulating the joy of collective achievements and the institution's role in inspiring the next generation of scientists and researchers.
