The weather once again changed in Madhya Pradesh on Monday, it rained in some places while there was severe hot condition in many districts, Bhopal recorded day temperature at 41.1 degree celsius providing little relief from scorching heat.
In the afternoon there was heavy rain in Khandwa's Omkareshwar and Gwalior. Light rains also occurred in Sheopurkalan, Mandsaur and Chhatarpur. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain in many cities including Bhopal.
The Meteorological Department has issued rain warnings in Bhopal, Shajapur, Bhind, Gwalior, Khandwa, Sagar, Jabalpur, Raisen, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Katni, Harda, Chhindwara, Narmadapuram, Seoni and Balaghat in the next few hours. There are chances of rain along with thunderstorms in Sehore, Morena, Burhanpur, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Ashoknagar, Dewas, Barwani, Khargone. During this, thunderstorms of speed of 45 km per hour would be witnessed.
Tikamgarh was the hottest in the state during the day. Here for the first time the temperature was recorded at 44.5 degree Celsius.
Other cities of the state also recorded a drop of 2- 3 degree celsius. In Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur, the temperature crossed 41 degrees, while in Indore the temperature came down to 39.4 degree celsius. In Khajuraho and Damoh, the mercury remained above 43 degree celsius. The temperature remained more than 40 degree celsius in Guna, Umaria, Nowgong, Sagar, Mandla, Sidhi, Rewa, Satna, Khandwa and Seoni.
Gadarwara in Narsinghpur recorded 4 mm of rain on Monday. Apart from this, Sheopurkalan, Mandsaur and Chhatarpur also received rain. It rained in the night in Guna, Jabalpur and Sagar.
Meteorologists said that there is a possibility of heat wave in Gwalior, Khargone, Dhar, Ratlam, Guna, Bhind, Morena and Sheopur Kalan. There is a possibility of some relief from the heat from Tuesday.
Between May 16 and 20, due to the activation of Western Disturbance, there may be light drizzle with thunder and lightning in Gwalior, Rewa-Chambal division of the state. Rest of the places will be partly cloudy, but the heat will remain sharp. Drizzle has occurred in Guna, Jabalpur and Sagar districts in the last 24 hours.
