Vigilance Day Celebration at XITE College

Wednesday, 08 November 2023 | PNS | Jamshedpur

XITE College stood united in promoting vigilance and ethical values during a day-long celebration marking Vigilance Awareness Week on its campus. Organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of XITE College, the event aimed to instill a sense of vigilance among the faculty, staff, and students.

Coordinated by Dr. Sanchita Ghosh Choudhary, Associate Professor and IQAC Coordinator, the celebration began with an assembly where all participants, including faculty, staff, and students, solemnly pledged to uphold and practice vigilance in their daily lives.

Fr. Dr. E. A. Francis, Principal of XITE College, delivered a compelling speech underscoring the critical role of vigilance in combating corruption and nurturing ethical values within society.

The day unfolded with a Slogan Writing Competition in both English and Hindi. Eshika Mishra of BA English claimed the top position in the English category, with Manoj Marandi, also from BA English, securing the second spot. In the Hindi Slogan Writing competition, Shruti Purty from BBA stood first, and Khokan Chandra Mahato, also from BBA, secured the second position.

A highlight of the celebration was a thought-provoking talk show themed "Say NO to Corruption, Commit to the Nation." Colonel Vinay Ahuja, Commanding Officer of 37 Jharkhand Battalion, NCC Jamshedpur, graced the event as the Chief Guest and speaker. Colonel Ahuja enlightened the audience on the significance of vigilance, the Prevention of Corruption Act, the Government e-Marketplace (GEM), and the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) scheme, among other crucial aspects.

The celebration served not only as a day of reflection but as a collective stride towards promoting vigilance awareness and contributing to the development of a just, prosperous, and corruption-free society. XITE College reaffirms its commitment to nurturing responsible citizens equipped to stand against corruption and uphold ethical values in all spheres of life.
