The trial run of Vande Bharat Express train was held on Monday from Patna Junction to Ranchi Junction. This train started at 6:55 AM and reached Gaya at 8:20 AM after a 10 minutes halt at Gaya the departure from Gaya at 8:30 AM and reached Ranchi at 1:00 pm.

After that the train departed from Ranchi to Patna at 2:20 pm. It reached Gaya at 7 pm. It will leave from here at 7:10 and reach back to Patna at 8:25. The speed of the train will be 110 to 130 kilometers per hour.

However, during the trial run, common passengers were not allowed to enter the train. The trial run is being done purely for safety and operational purposes. In up and down direction, it will operate via Jehanabad, Gaya, Barkakana, Koderma, Hazaribagh Town and Ranchi Mesra. There are all kinds of facilities in the train. There is an arrangement of AC. There is a good arrangement of toiletries. Important issue is that it will cover the distance from Ranchi to Patna in just 6 hours.

Appreciating the railway’s initiative Member, DRUCC, Ranchi Railway Division, Navjot Alang said that the trial run of Vande Bharata Express is encouraging for the people of the State. The journey from Patna to Ranchi in just 6 hours is comfortable for the passengers, he added.

“If you see this, Janshatabdi reaches Ranchi in about 8 hours, Patna-Hatia 9.30 hours, Islampur Hatia Express in 10 hours. Compared to these trains, there will be a saving of about 3 hours in traveling from Patna to Ranchi by Vande Bharat. People coming from Patna to Ranchi in a day will also be able to go back to the destination by another train in the evening. With the operation of this train from the newly constructed Koderma Hazaribagh-Ranchi via Barkakana new rail line at a cost of Rs 3800 crore, this route will also be put to good use,” said Alang.

The Member, DRUCC further said that with the construction of this new line, the distance between Ranchi and Patna will also be reduced by about 70 km. “Passengers of Hazaribagh, Koderma and Barkakana will also find it very easy to travel by this train. The Ministry of Railways is requested to start the trial run of Ranchi Howrah Vande Bharat as soon as possible,” he added.
