Consul General Melinda Pavek is scheduled to visit XLRI Jamshedpur on August 25, 2023, to deliver a talk on the topic of “Challenges & Opportunities in Supply Chain Management.” The event will also include an interaction with E-Cell Members of XLRI, focusing on the ongoing Tribal Entrepreneurship Project. The visit aims to foster communication and collaboration, offering students access to various workshops, courses, educational guidance for higher studies in the U.S., and initiatives related to STEM, education, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange.
Melinda Pavek assumed her role as Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General, Kolkata, India, on August 12, 2021. Her extensive career includes various assignments, such as Counsellor for Science, Innovation, and Development at the U.S. Embassy Tokyo, as well as roles in Islamabad, Pakistan, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, Nepal, Jamaica, Iraq, and Lahore. She joined the Foreign Service in 2004 after working in supply chain analysis, project management, quality systems implementation, and teaching English in Japan.
Raised in Minnesota and currently residing in Wyoming, Melinda holds an MBA in Operations, Supply Chain, and Strategy from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College, with a focus on Political Science, Economics, and Asian Studies.
