With assembly elections in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh round the corner, the Bharatiya Janata Party is entrusting senior ministers and party officials from Uttar Pradesh with electoral responsibilities.
The campaign in these crucial states will see Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak leading the charge, while other ministers and party officials will oversee election management.
In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP’s formidable team, including Yogi, Keshav Prasad, Brajesh Pathak and Babyrani Maurya will take out the Jan Ashirwad Yatra.
The election management responsibilities in MP are entrusted to the Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge), JPS Rathore, who also takes charge of 25 assembly constituencies in the Bhopal division.
Laxmikant Bajpai, the party's national vice president, has been appointed as the in-charge for ten assembly and three Lok Sabha constituencies.
Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, the BJP has assigned national general secretary Arun Singh to take charge of election coordination. State general secretary Govind Shukla will be stationed at the state headquarters in Jaipur to manage election arrangements. The task of overseeing 29 assembly constituencies in the Ajmer, Bhilwara, Tonk and Nagaur divisions has been entrusted to former minister Mahendra Singh.
Furthermore, to bolster the party’s presence in Rajasthan, 66 MLAs from Uttar Pradesh have been dispatched to the various assembly constituencies in the state for the second phase of campaigning, following the return of the MLAs sent during the first phase.
“The BJP’s strategic allocation of responsibilities to seasoned leaders and officials highlights the party’s commitment to securing victory in these crucial assembly elections. As the political landscape in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh heats up, all eyes will be on the campaign efforts and election management led by these experienced BJP stalwarts,” Rajesh Narain, a political analyst said.
Meanwhile, the BJP leadership has given the responsibility of media management in electoral states to three BJP spokespersons in Uttar Pradesh.
“Rakesh Tripathi for Madhya Pradesh, Manish Shukla for Chhattisgarh and Alok Awasthi for Rajasthan have been entrusted with the responsibility,” a government spokesman said.
These spokespersons previously had a similar role during the last state legislative elections in Uttar Pradesh.
