Thirteen important proposals of several departments including Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and Urban Development have been approved in the Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Lok Bhavan here on Wednesday.
Giving details of the proposals cleared by the Cabinet, Cabinet Ministers Rakesh Sachan and AK Sharma claimed that the Yogi Cabinet had approved the proposal for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department.
A resolution has been passed regarding power looms for weavers. The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Powerloom Weaver Electricity Flat Rate Scheme has been approved, with a subsidy. The scheme will be considered applicable from April 1 for the connections till the 5 kilowatt load.
The State has 86,074 powerloom connections, out of which 73,588 are of 5 kilowatts. Sachan said that the proposal was cleared after fruitful talks with the weavers and now 85.56 percent connection holders had to pay a flat rate bill.
It may be mentioned that for half kilowatt connection, weavers have to pay Rs 300 every month in rural areas and Rs 600 per month in urban areas.
Additionally, the government will give subsidies on the setting up of powerlooms or on the purchase of machines.
Under the ‘Amrit-2 scheme’ of the Urban Development Department, projects worth more than one thousand crores for drinking water and sewage have been approved.
A piped water supply project worth Rs 246 crore has been approved for wards 1 and 2 of Sarojini Nagar and Ibrahimpur ward of Lucknow, which will benefit a population of 1.70 lakh. Meanwhile, a sewage project worth Rs 547 crore has been approved in Ghaziabad, covering 10 wards and benefiting 68,000 households. In Agra, a project worth Rs 264 crore has been approved for Ganga river-based water supply in the Bantu Katra area, which will connect 38,431 houses.
Apart from this, the proposal of the Housing Development Department ‘Chief Minister’s Urban Expansion or New City Promotion Scheme’ has also been approved by the Cabinet. Under this scheme, for the planned development of the cities (townships), a committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of Secretary Housing and Urban Planning for land acquisition by the Housing Development Council. The township under this scheme will be of minimum 25 acres.
