Principal Secretary, Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply department, Anurag Srivastava will share the success story of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Uttar Pradesh with bureaucrats from across the country at the 16th Civil Services Day on Thursday.
The event, which will take place at Vigyan Bhawan, is the largest civil service program in the country.
A government spokesman said that Srivastava would present his views on ‘Piped Water for All-Jal Jeevan Mission’.
“Srivastava is the only officer in the country invited to speak on the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme on Civil Services Day,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the programme’s concluding session. Top officers from all over the country will attend the Civil Services Day event. The theme of this program is ‘Developed India-Empowering Citizens and Reaching the Last Mile’.
The program aims to inspire the civil servants of India to adopt the attitude of “Nation First”.
Anurag Srivastava will highlight the developments of Har Ghar Jal Yojana in UP, specifically before and after 2019.
“People’s lives are changed by clean water in Bundelkhand, a mountainous region with rocky and stony terrain,” spokesman said and added that UP has also provided tap connections to more than one crore rural households in a short time.
“Supply of clean water has transformed the lives of the people in Bundelkhand; UP has made significant progress by providing tap connections to over one crore rural households in a short period,” he added.
Apart from this, a presentation of the successful efforts of the scheme moving forward with a long list of achievements in two years will also be presented to the civil servants.
