Tragic accident claims life of school student in road mishap

Tragedy struck early Thursday morning as a Beldih Church School student was hit by a bus while on his way to school. The incident occurred around 6:00 am, just 50 meters away from Jugsalai police station. The victim was going on a scooty along with his father.

In this accident, father Vikas Prasad and son Lalit Prasad (14), residents of Ram Tekri Road, Jugsalai Naya Bazar, were seriously injured after the incident. The injured were taken to Tata Main Hospital for immediate treatment where doctors declared the son dead during investigation.

After the mishap, the school bus quickly fled towards Bistupur. The deceased was a student of Beldih Church School. He was going to his school with his father. A little before Jugsalai police station, the bus rammed the scooty from behind. At present, the police are engaged in identifying the school bus.

“ This tragic incident is a reminder of the importance of road safety, especially during peak hours when many students are on their way to school. It is important for drivers to remain vigilant and cautious, and for commuters to always be aware of their surroundings and take necessary precautions. The community has been left reeling by the tragedy, with many expressing their shock and sadness at the loss of such a young life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the student during this difficult time,” said an eyewitness.

The incident is a sobering reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to exercise caution and drive responsibly. The police are investigating the matter further, and more details will be released as they become available.

As soon as the people of the neighborhood received information about this painful incident, they started gathering at his house. Injured father Vikas Prasad said that his son Lalit Prasad was studying in eighth standard in Beldih School.

In the morning, he was going to school with his son on a scooty. Then a yellow coloured bus caught them from behind. Both of them were injured in this incident.

They reached Tata Main Hospital with the child. Where the doctors declared him dead. On the other hand, as soon as the information was received, Jugsalai police reached Tata Main Hospital and started an investigation.

According to the police, the incident took place due to the rash driving of an unknown bus. At present the investigation is going on. At the same time, the absconding bus was also traced from the spot.
