Three people died while three escaped with severe injuries after an auto rickshaw was hit by a speeding truck at Berasia in the morning on Monday in front of Bio Coal Factory near Kulhare square on Vidisha road.
After hitting the auto rickshaw by the truck it was dragged for about 50 meters, at the time of accident 6 people were sitting in the auto rickshaw, 3 people were seriously injured. CCTV video of the accident surfaced in which the truck is passing by hitting the auto from behind.
The accident happened at 10.30 am, on receiving the information, the police reached the spot with the help of local people and 2 JCBs, took out the bodies of the dead and the injured from the auto rickshaw. Habib (55) resident of village Jhikaria Tehsil Berasia, Pawan Jatav (26) resident of village Raipura in Vidisha district and Mohan Jatav (38) resident of village Suakhedi district Vidisha died in the accident.
The auto driver was also seriously injured in the accident. The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the other injured.
It is seen in the video that the truck hit the auto from behind. After the truck collision, the auto overturned twice. After the accident, the driver left the truck and fled from the spot.
Berasia police station In-charge Girish Tripathi said that the speeding truck hit the CNG auto from behind. In which three people died on the spot, three people were seriously injured. The injured have been sent to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal. The dead bodies were sent to Berasia district hospital for postmortem.
Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath has expressed grief over the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
