A three-day national conference was inaugurated at the Advaita Vedanta Department of Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri, on the topic 'Philosophical mapping of post-Sankar Advaita Vedanta' with financial support of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research.
Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr Rabindra Kumar Panda presided over the meeting and highlighted how Shri Shankaracharya established the philosophy of Vedanta and the benefits of Vedanta in modern society.
Member Secretary, Indian Philosophical Research Council, Prof Sachidananda Mishra joined as the chief guest and spoke about how Vedanta Philosophy was propagated in India after Shankaracharya.
Prof Godabarish Mishra joined as a speaker.
The Vice Chancellorof Sri Somanath Sanskrit University, Gujarat Prof Sukanta Kumar Senapati was present. Professor Ambika Dutt Sharma, Head of Department of Philosophy, Harisingh Gaur University, Madhya Pradesh, attended the meeting as the guest of honour and Chairman of PG Council of Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University Prof Satrughna Panigarahi attended as a guest.
The meeting was co-ordinated by DrChandan Kumar Mishra.
Dr Radhakant Panda informed that about 32 Sanskrit Professors from 12 various States of India have been invited and hundreds of teachers and students will present their own papers during the seminar.
