Delhi Police’s epic response to Pakistani actor and a self proclaimed social activist from Karachi, Sehar Shinwari, who sought action against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Research and Analysis Wing for “spreading chaos and terrorism” in her home country, is raking up likes.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, Shinwari on Tuesday tweeted, “Anyone knows the online link of Delhi Police? I have to file a complain against Indian PM and Indian Intelligence Agency RAW who are spreading chaos and terrorism in my country Pakistan. If the Indian courts are free (as they claim), then I am sure Indian Supreme Court will provide me justice.”
In a subsequent online outburst, Shinwari also requested the United Nations’ intervention in the case. The actress blamed India for trying to escalate the tension in her home country and urged the UN to take ‘immediate action’.
Delhi Police was quick and witty in its response. “We are afraid we still do not have jurisdiction in Pakistan. But, would like to know how come you are tweeting when the internet has been shut down in your country!,” it tweeted from its official Twitter handle.
Shinwari, caught off guard by the Delhi Police’s response, found herself in a predicament – and the butt of humour.
Shinwari’s tweet came against the backdrop of Imran Khan’s dramatic arrest outside the Islamabad High Court on alleged corruption charges. The arrest has led to violent clashes between police and Khan’s supporters, following which the internet was disrupted across multiple networks in Pakistan.
