State prepared to meet health challenges: Health Minister

Addressing the 77th Independence Day, Health Minister Banna Gupta expressed confidence in the state's preparedness to meet health challenges effectively.

He lauded the heroism of Jharkhand's brave martyrs, such as Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Martyr Tilka Manjhi, and the Veeranganas. He commended the countless agitations and sacrifices made by the heroes of Jharkhand, who stood resolute in their determination to secure the nation's liberty.

The Minister commended the progressive initiatives undertaken by the government under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister  Hemant Soren. He outlined various developmental policies and schemes designed to uplift the lives of the people. These initiatives encompassed crucial areas such as education, employment, and public welfare, including the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana for promoting girl education, the Chief Minister Self Employment Scheme for youth empowerment, and various policies related to planning, sports, and employee benefits.

Gupta underscored the state government's commitment to addressing the challenges posed by the pandemic. He highlighted the significant steps taken to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, which resulted in the availability of a substantial number of non-oxygen beds, oxygen-supported beds, ICU beds, ventilator beds, and specialized paediatric care facilities. 

As a mark of recognition for outstanding contributions,  Gupta bestowed certificates upon officials and personnel who excelled in the fields of education, health, sanitation, and policing. The event further acknowledged the remarkable performance of various platoons in the Independence Day celebrations, with shields awarded to the NCC boy, the District Police Force (Male) second place, and the District Police Force (Female) third place Platoon Commanders. Shields were also presented as consolation prizes to all other platoon commanders, celebrating their dedication and spirited participation.

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic zeal at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur. The district-level main function, held to honor the historic occasion, saw an impressive display of unity and patriotism. The Honorable Minister of Health, Medical Education, and Family Welfare, as well as Disaster Management, Banna Gupta, graced the event as the chief guest. The ceremony commenced with the dignified hoisting of the national flag, followed by a parade inspection by Gupta, who then saluted the tricolor.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed officials, adding to the significance of the event. Among those present were District Magistrate and Co-Deputy Commissioner  Manjunath Bhajantri, Senior Superintendent of Police  Prabhat Kumar, Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar, Rural Superintendent of Police  Mukesh Lunayat, SDM Dhalbhum  Piyush Sinha, Additional Deputy Commissioner  Jaideep Tigga, Director DRDA  Saurabh Sinha, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Majhi, ADM Law and Order  Deepu Kumar, DCLR  Ravindra Gagarai, District Education Officer Nirmala Barelia, and District Public Relations Officer  Rohit Kumar. This distinguished gathering was witness to the splendid celebration of India's freedom.
