The accused identified as Vishal Kumar belongs to Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar and is accused of selling land in the Rajpur area using a fake registry. He said that the police suspect that Kumar committed the fraud in connivance with other main accused like advocate Kamal Virmani, advocate Imran and one of the main accused of registry fraud KP Singh. He said that the SIT has arrested a total of 11 accused in the registry scam case and Kumar’s name came to light during the interrogation of the arrested accused. The SSP said that the complainant Minakshi Sood had given a written complaint in the Jakhan police station in March this year against this fraud. The case was handed over to sub inspector Samar Singh who did not take concrete action in the matter in time despite repeated instructions from senior officials. Considering his negligent behaviour regarding the case, the SSP reverted him to the police line on Friday. Singh also said that names of some prominent people have come to light during the SIT’s investigation along with some concrete evidence. The team are working efficiently on this ongoing investigation and is gearing up to take legal action against people who are suspected to be involved in the fraud, said Singh.
