Women in Chhattisgarh are shaping their dreams into reality with easy loans to start their own businesses under the Saksham Scheme of the Women and Child Development Department, the government said .
Under the scheme, loans are given to women at an affordable annual interest rate of 3 percent.
Among the beneficiaries are Kamleshwari Bai and Laxmi. They obtained loans of Rs. 6 and Rs. 2 lakhs respectively to start their business ventures.
The scheme extends its benefits to women below the poverty line, widows, divorcees and unmarried women, empowering them to enhance their livelihood.
The Chhattisgarh government is committed to promoting the skill development, talents and training of its women and youth, said an official communique.
