In an initiative to mark International Girl Child's Day, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown organised a half-day seminar at LBSM College, focusing on menstrual hygiene and personal safety on Wednesday. The event aimed to break societal taboos surrounding menstrual health and equip young girls with knowledge and awareness. Dr. Ranju Kumari from Sadar Hospital led an informative session on menstrual hygiene, covering menstrual cycles, associated health issues, and practical hygiene practices.

Adding to the insightful seminar,  Preeti Saini, a Consultant Psychologist, Motivational Speaker, and Author, delved into the crucial topic of "good touch and bad touch." Her session not only addressed the physical aspects of abuse but also explored the mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions associated with sexual abuse. The seminar shed light on recognizing signs of abuse, breaking barriers, and seeking help.  Dr. Ashok Kumar Jha, President of the Rotary Club and Principal of the college, emphasized the importance of overcoming societal taboos and providing a platform for open discussions on menstrual health.

The seminar, inaugurated by lighting the lamp, was well-received by around 100 students, professors, and esteemed guests, including  Dr. Jyoti Singh. As a proactive measure, the Rotary Club distributed As a practical measure, the club distributed menstrual cups to the students and professors of the college, promoting sustainable and hygienic menstrual practices. The NCC coordinator expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks.

 The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown, through this impactful seminar, demonstrated its commitment to fostering awareness, education, and a safe environment for the holistic development of the girl child.
