Arm-wrestling fans in Bhopal were in for a treat as Pro Panja League organized a mega match titled ‘Mega Match on a Boat’ at a boat in the Bhopal Lake. This was the fourth edition of the mega match series and it was the biggest arm-wrestling event to ever take place in Bhopal. The event was sponsored by Surbhi Security Services Pvt Ltd and co-powered by VKSC Infra-projects Pvt Ltd.
Talking to the media persons during the mega match, Keshav Pandey, President, Gwalior Arm-wrestling Association said that it is for the first time in history that a sports event has taken place in a boat in Bhopal Lake. The craze for the Mega Match was visible as the boat was already packed with spectators. Pandey further said that arm-wrestlers from across Madhya Pradesh took part in this event.
The main event featured a highly anticipated bout between Gwalior’s Sachin Goyal and Agra’s Akash Kumar. Both these arm-wrestlers are regarded as the best in India and in this match-up, Sachin Goyal showcased his dominance as he defeated the Agra based arm-wrestler 3-0 in the best of five set.
In the co-main event, Gwalior’s Jogendra Yadav defeated Dewas native Muzahid Shaikh 3-2 in a tightly contested match-up. This match was also hailed as the ‘Fight Of The Night’ match. It was also a unique match in the sense that this was an uncharted territory for many arm wrestlers. Jogendra Yadav was battling sea sickness during his arm-wrestling match but ultimately won the mega match 4-0.
The boat was also swaying in the lake which only added to the unique atmosphere for both the viewers and arm-wrestlers. The event was a grand success and the viewers in Bhopal are already calling for the next event to take place in the City of Lakes.
Bollywood celebrities and Pro Panja League owners Parvin Dabas and Mrs Preeti Jhangiaini were also present there as special guests.
Both the actors have taken the sport of arm-wrestling in India to the next level and have heavily promoted it making Pro Panja League one of the biggest arm-wrestling league in the world. Speaking on the occasion, Parvin Dabas said that ‘Mega Match on a Boat’ was a rare event which was loved by all and exceeded their expectations.
