The Bara Bazar police in Hazaribag have arrested five cyber criminals including a female member from a house of Hurhuru mohalla of the town area. Police have recovered a huge quantity of items which are used in operating ATM machines. They were also engaged in the trading of opium in the district and out- side the district.
The officer in charge of Bara Bazar police station Ghanshyam Kumar said that the police received the information that some suspected persons are living in a house on rent. They have told the house owner that we are students of the college and preparing for competitive examinations.
Kumar said on the information the police team raided the house and arrested all cyber criminals including a female member. They have confessed to the police that they are engaged in cyber crime in the district and also trading of opium in and outside the district.
All the arrested criminals are residents of Bagodar. The criminals who have been arrested are Chandu alias Chandrika, Rahul Kumar, Darshan Kumar, Pappu Kumar and a female member.
Police have recovered more than 16 ATM cards, Cash, a large number of SIM cards, six mobile sets and a laptop from them.
Kumar said that they were also engaged in illegal video making and then demanded extortion money from the party.
The DySP of town Mahesh Parjapati said that we will thoroughly investigate the arrested persons and then arrange the raid programme on the place which came out during the investigation.
