In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement agencies successfully apprehended Josef Guria, also known as Laden, a prominent PLFI (People's Liberation Front of India) rebel, in the Anandpur thana area of West Singhbhum. Guria was a key suspect in a double murder case reported at Anandpur thana in September 2021.
Acting on a reliable tip-off, a joint operation involving local police and paramilitary forces unfolded on Saturday morning, leading to the arrest of the wanted rebel. West Singhbhum SP Ashutosh Shekhar, in a press statement, disclosed that intelligence suggested Laden's clandestine movements in the Anandpur and Bano thana areas, prompting the swift action that led to his capture.
The specially formed team successfully apprehended Guria after a thorough search operation in the Anandpur thana area. The arrest comes after the PLFI area commander, Sujit Kumar Ram alias Sahuji, executed a double murder on September 9, 2021, by killing two associates and burying their bodies near Patihar Mangradoha nala under the jurisdiction of Anandpur thana.
Upon the arrest of two PLFI rebels earlier, the police extracted crucial information during the interrogation, unveiling Laden's involvement in the heinous crime. Laden, 32, had been on the run since his name surfaced in the accused list.
West Singhbhum SP emphasized that Laden's arrest was a significant milestone in resolving the double murder case. The police, assisted by paramilitary forces, are committed to bringing justice to the victims and ensuring the apprehension of all those involved in this heinous act. Further investigation is underway to gather more insights into the PLFI's activities and potential connections in the region.
