The Prestige Institute of Management and Research association with the MP Council of Science and Technology, organized a seminar on “ Women Entrepreneurship and Skill Development in the post Covid Scenario” primarily to appreciate and recall the contributions of women entrepreneurs in fostering entrepreneurship among womenfolk and make them self reliant economically.
Padamshri Janak Palta McGilligan who was felicitated by Renu Jain with PIMR Inspiring Women Award, shared the stories of poor girls from the rural areas and how she took initiatives to make these poor girls literate and self dependent by helping them gain degrees through the National Open School, teaching Batik painting, stitching readymade garments, etc.
Palta said that she made entrepreneurs from illiterate girls and also trained school drop out students for entrepreneurship.
S Raman Iyer, Director, PIMR (UG) emphasized on the role of women entrepreneurs as important contributors to the economic and social development of a country as well as in addressing the global goals of overcoming the challenges of poverty and lead to sustainable
development.
Gaurav Goyal— Assistant Director, MSME DI Indore , Expert in Skill Development urged the students to spend time in analysing their life span and time spent for each activity. He insisted on opting for an entrepreneurial career at an early stage in life as it will enable to become an established entrepreneur in a short span of 6-8 years. He emphasized on the various schemes of the MP govt for promotion of women entrepreneurs in the micro, small and medium enterprises.
Fenu Jain, Aashna Jain and Pooja Jain (Founder - International Fine Arts Academy) emphasized on the role of women entrepreneurs as important contributors to the economic and social development of a country as well as in addressing the global goals of overcoming the challenges of poverty and lead to sustainable development.
Brajesh Gupta- Vice President- International Business- Prestige Group, said that the MPCST is making efforts to create awareness about initiatives of the government to fulfil the dreams of youngsters. Pallavi Vyas, women entrepreneur in Indore and owner of Shanta Farms, asked students to encourage and support their sister, friend, mom or wives to start working in their area of interest and in this way contribute towards women empowerment.
