GOVT OK’s 1st tranchet of `773 Cr to MCD
New Delhi: The Arvind Kejriwal Government has approved the release of the first instalment of Rs 773 crore to Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). This decision will ensure timely payment of salary/pension to the serving and retired employees of MCD. “Due to the misgovernance by the earlier regime the hardworking employees of the MCD had to go on strikes for their basic right of timely salaries which use to cause a lot of trouble for the employees of MCD , their families and people of Delhi. The primary focus should be given towards cleanliness of delhi but in the earlier regime it was more focussed on troubling employees for salaries,” reads the statement.
KEJRIWAL MEETS WITH GOVT SCHOOL JEE TOPPER
New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met with Asteek Narayan, a student of a Delhi Government School who scored 100% in JEE Mains. During the meeting, the Chief Minister presented Asteek with the book Becoming Babasaheb Ambedkar and congratulated him on his remarkable achievement. Expressing his happiness, Kejriwal said that Asteek's parents would be very proud of his success, and the Delhi Government is also very proud of him. He added that such progress was the dream of Babasaheb and Sardar Bhagat Singh, and the government is only trying to fulfil their dreams.
Maha, Guj Foundation day held at Raj niwas
New Delhi: The Foundation day of Maharashtra and Gujarat was on Monday observed at Raj Niwas with Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena lauding the role of the two States in the growth and development of the country. The Lieutenant Governor recalled the Growth of Gujarat under the leadership Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking on the occasion, Saxena said “Since 1960 the two states came into existence, the world has seen and praised Gujarat and Maharashtra for climbing the ladder of success and development in the last 60 years. If I say that these two states have set a new norm of India's development, then there should be no surprise in it”.
Haj committee chief meETS Saudi ENVOY
New Delhi: Delhi Haj Committee chairperson Kausar Jahan on Monday met the ambassador of Saudi Arabia and requested him for better facilities for pilgrims going for Haj from the city. A total of 2,540 people from Delhi will go for Haj this year, she said in a statement. Jahan, a BJP leader, met Saudi Arabia's ambassador Saleh Eid Al Husseini and discussed with him issues related to pilgrims visiting the country for Haj this year, according to the statement. The committee has approved 2,540 Hajis from Delhi that include a group of 39 women who will be going on the pilgrimage without any male accomplice, she said.
67L smart meters to be installed in UP
New Delhi: A smart metering and digital solutions company, IntelliSmart Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd, has received the order to install 67 lakh prepaid smart meters along with substantial service cabling and auxiliaries in 14 districts in Uttar Pradesh falling under the purview of Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL). IntelliSmart will implement the project in Totex mode under the Design Build Finance Own Operate and Transfer (DBFOOT) arrangement. The project will be undertaken in Amroha, Baghpat, Bijnor, Bulandshahar, GB Nagar, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Hapur, Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sambhal and Shamli districts of Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited.
