Monsoon arrives in Kerala, within two weeks in MP

After entering Kerala, the monsoon will also arrive in Madhya Pradesh within next  2 weeks, prediction of the monsoon's delay has been altered due to pre-monsoon activities.

Several places received rainfall in the past 24 hours while the day temperature was recorded at 43.5 degree celsius in Damoh.

Met has issued warning of thundery activities and gusty winds in Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Chhindwara, Mandla, Balaghat and Seoni districts.

Met has mentioned the possibility of the arrival of monsoon in Madhya Pradesh anytime after June 20. Earlier there was a forecast of monsoon till June 25. Before this the pre-monsoon activity will continue. There is also a forecast of rain along with strong wind in many districts of the state.

Met told that if the monsoon arrives at this pace, then it can hit in the state by June 20-25. Like last time it will came via Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur. First Indore, then Bhopal, Gwalior-Jabalpur will get rains. Monsoon had arrived in the state only on June 16 last year and by July 1, it became active across the state.

In the last 13 years, twice the monsoon had entered on June 10 itself. In the years 2013 and 2021, the monsoon arrived ahead of time. Usually the date of onset of monsoon is June 15.

With light rain, the wind speed has also increased in the state. The wind will blow at a speed of 40 km per hour in Bhopal. Strong wind blew on Thursday night as well. In the last 24 hours, Bhopal received 0.4 mm of rain, while Gwalior received 1.8 mm of rain.

Last year, the monsoon arrived in Bhopal on June 20. Monsoon entered Indore on June 17, Gwalior on June 30 and Jabalpur on June 17. Whereas, on July 1, the monsoon had reached the state. According to the estimates so far, this time the monsoon will be delayed by a few days.

According to the Meteorological Department, it may rain in 16 districts of the state in the next 24 hours. Light rain is expected in Sheopur Kalan, Dhar, Raisen, Betul, Bhind, Rajgarh, Khandwa, Vidisha, Sagar, Ashoknagar, Burhanpur, Ujjain, Chhindwara, Anuppur, Dindori and Damoh districts.

Cloudy weather with rainfall and thundery activities in some places would be witnessed in Bhopal.
