Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai is continuously inspecting cleanliness arrangements in different areas of the city with a view to ensure cleanliness activities as per the prescribed norms of Swachh Survekshan-2023.

In this sequence, Mayor Malti Rai visited Zone no. 4 on Tuesday, observed cleanliness arrangements, door-to-door garbage collection, cleaning of drains and other activities of cleanliness in different areas.

Instructions were given to ensure better security, advised compulsorily keeping 2 dustbins at the shops and to take strict action of spot fine against those who fail to keep dustbins.

During this, Mayor Rai interacted with businessmen and local citizens in different areas and also took feedback regarding cleanliness work and garbage collection and actively cooperated in cleanliness activities to make her city Bhopal number 01 in cleanliness.

Along with several areas in Zone no. 4 she visited other areas including Mangalwara, Silavatpura, Patel Nagar, Sindhi Colony, Tila Jamalpura Hanuman Mandir, Arif Nagar Garbage Transfer Station and Chhola Market, etc. Observed the activities of cleanliness and got detailed information about cleanliness related works.

She directed that residents, markets and other public places and drains should be cleaned better and arrangements for collecting garbage from 100 percent areas should also be made more systematic.

Mayor instructed to take strict action of spot fines against those who do not keep dustbins at the shops and directed that the presence of all the employees involved in the cleanliness work should be ensured in the prescribed uniform.

During the observation of the Garbage Transfer Station located at Arif Nagar, Mayor Rai directed that the segregated waste should always be transported to the Garbage Station by keeping it in separate compartments of the garbage vehicle. While inspecting the Chhola Mechanical Market also directed to ensure better cleanliness of drains and keep the flow of drains in order.

During this, Mayor Rai also had a cleanliness dialogue with the residents and businessmen and also took feedback regarding road sweeping, garbage segregation and door-to-door garbage collection.
