Masive fire breaks out at electrical shop and warehouse at Karond

A massive fire broke out in an electrical shop and warehouse in Karond in the early hours of Sunday, goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes, reason of fire was found to be a short circuit.

After the fire broke smoke started to coming out due to burning of wires, pipes, fans, switches, chandeliers and which caused problems for the fire tenders who reached to pacify  the fire.

Manish Keswani has a shop named Super Electricals in Karond which also has a godown. He is a wholesaler of electrical goods, the shop and warehouse were filled with goods worth lakhs of rupees.

The fire broke out in these in the early hours and within a few hours everything was reduced to ashes. The upper part of the shop was also filled with goods. Fire tenders reached here with the help of stairs. The fire was extinguished by breaking the shutter.

Firefighter Pankaj Yadav said that the warehouse was filled with goods worth more than Rs 60 lakh. Wires, pipes, fans, switches, chandeliers etc. were kept here. Due to the presence of nylon and plastic material, the fire spread rapidly. The fire started reaching the nearby shops, but somehow the fire was controlled in about 4 and a half hours. However, the smoke continued to rise for a long time.

To extinguish the fire, 12 vehicles from Karond, Pul Bogda, Chhola, Govindpura, Gandhinagar, Fatehgarh fire stations reached the spot. The fire was brought under control after hours of effort. Fire tenders had difficulty extinguishing the fire due to the smoke. Many employees even started having burning sensation in their eyes.
