Like UPSC, girl power shines in JAC results

The Jharkhand Academic Council has declared 10th, 12th board exam results today. Department of School Education Secretary, K Ravi Kumar and Board Chairman, Anil Kumar Mahto announced the results at JAC office.
This year girls have once again outlined boys in both matriculation and intermediate results. In matriculation results Shreya Songiri from Purna Pani Adivasi High School (Jamshedpur) has topped the matriculation examination securing 490 out of 500 marks. Her percentage is 98%. Followed by Songiri, Dumka boy Saurabh Kumar Pal is second securing 489 (97.8% ). Deeksha Bharti from Hazaribag Chas Indra Gandhi Girls High School is third getting 488 (97.6%).
Similarly, in intermediate science too this year's topper is a girl student.  Divya Kumari from GM + High School (Ramgarh) is intermediate science topper scoring 479 out of 500 marks. Her percentage is  95.87 %. Followed by Divya Kumari, the second and third topper are both girls. Khushi Kumari from Ursuline Convent Ranchi is second topper getting 476- 95.2 %, while Priyanka Ghosh from Ursuline  Convent Ranchi 95% is third getting 475 marks. Pawan Kumar Rana (Hazaribagh) too has secured 475- 95%  marks.
The fair sex outperforming boys in JAC results has come on the day when the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) too has declared mains final results and women have topped the results.
This year too, women dominated the top positions with Ishita Kishore securing AIR 1 followed by Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N and Smriti Mishra. There are six women in the top ten. Last year, Shruti Sharma had secured All India Rank 1 in the UPSC CSE 2021 exam. All the top three positions were secured by women—Ankita Agarwal had secured AIR 2 and Gamini Singla from Chandigarh got rank 3.
In JAC 10th board exam, 68.32 per cent students have passed with first division, whereas 39.25 per cent of students have passed with the second division and 2.72 per cent with third division. On the other hand, 90.60 per cent of students have secured first division in the Inter Science board examination. At the same time, 7.63 per cent of students passed from second division and 0.02 per cent students from third division.
President of Jharkhand Academic Council, Dr. Anil Kumar Mahato while addressing said that inter science and tenth result were released, today it is an important day for students. He said that this time the intermediate and matriculation exams were taken in two formats. It was OMR and pen paper based people are giving results in less than stipulated time. The cooperation of the entire district administration and education department was commendable in organizing a peaceful examination. It was not easy to take the examination in OMR sheet and answer sheet together, even a slight disturbance will affect the future of the children.
