Area Commander of banned militant organization Jharkhand Jan Mukti Morcha (JJMP) Raghunath Singh Kherwar alias Raghu surrendered before the police on Tuesday in Latehar. Latehar SP Anjani Anjan and CRPF214BN 2ic Commandant Abhinav welcomed the surrendered militant with a bouquet in the programme organized for surrender.
For the past one year, the Jharkhand Police are continuously conducting intensive campaigns and raids against Naxalism and extremism. In this, Latehar district achieved many big achievements in different fields with the commendable contribution of Jharkhand Jaguar, Cobra, CRPF and SAT force of the district to Latehar Police. During the Naxal campaign many top Naxalites were caught and many Naxalites were killed. Along with this, Latehar Police contacted the families of Naxalites and motivated them by convincing them about the surrender and rehabilitation policy of Naxalites adopted by the Government.
Meanwhile, Area Commander of JJMP militant organization cum prize money of Rs two lakh announced by the Government, Raghunath Singh Kherwar alias Raghu surrendered before the District SP and second command officer of CRPF 214 Battalion, Abhinav Anand and Deputy Commander, Sandeep Kumar Sharma under surrender and rehabilitation policy of the Government.
Raghu was in the squad of Supremo, Pappu Lohra. He has committed 10 acts of extremist violence in different police station areas of the district and Latehar police was searching him for this for a long time. Regarding the surrender, Latehar SP Anjani Anjan said that the Latehar police are taking the surrender and rehabilitation policy of a Government to a higher level. At the same time, it is working to break the base of the extremists’ organization.
On the other hand, extremist Raghu ji said that he had deviated from the mainstream under the guise of the wrong policy of the extremists. But due to the meaningful initiative of the Police and CRPF, today I have given up arms and returned to the mainstream. At the same time appealed to other militants to give up arms and return to the mainstream.
