Jharkhand Haj Committee Chairman and Jamtara MLA Dr Irfan Ansari has accused the Central Government of giving step-motherly treatment to Haj pilgrims. He said that Ranchi was made an embarkation point after long efforts and fighting so that our Hajis do not face any difficulty but, now information is coming that Haj pilgrims will fly from Kolkata.
In such a situation, Ansari said that he is going to Delhi and will tell the BJP government at the Center that he will not tolerate playing with our pilgrims in this way. “I will play brick by brick and meet both the Union Ministers, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Smriti Irani and demand that under any circumstances, flight arrangements should be made for the Hajis from Ranchi itself so that our Hajis do not face any kind of problems,” he added.
Former Haj Committee Chairman Rizwan Khan said that Hajis from different areas of Jharkhand have come to Ranchi for departure from the pre-decided Ranchi Embarkation Point. “Go Air was pre scheduled from Ranchi invocation point but one week back Go Air declared bankruptcy. The State Government, considering the pain of the Hajis of Jharkhand and understanding their problems, should make some alternative arrangements so that the Hajis here do not face any kind of trouble,” he added.
“Irfan Ansari is busy in his politics and by giving press conferences in the media, he is telling that he has made a lot of effort for the Ranchi embarkation point. I want to tell Irfan Ansari that in 2018 and 2019, Hajis from Jharkhand went for Haj under my leadership from Ranchi embarkation point. But today Haj pilgrims from different areas of Jharkhand are facing trouble in Ranchi,” said Khan.
Khan said that the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, the State Government and the Haj Committee should decide that their problems should be resolved. “There are two options, one should consider another airline. Otherwise, proper arrangements should be made to go to Kolkata from here and arrangements should also be made to stay there. Significantly, if the Hajis going on Hajj from Jharkhand face problems, then the name of Jharkhand will be defamed in the whole world. That's why the Jharkhand Government should do the work of sending the Hajis from Ranchi airport to Jeddah airport in time because the Hajis have tickets from Ranchi to Jeddah. It is the responsibility of the State Government and the Haj Committee that Hajis should not be cheated,” he added.
