Chhattisgarh’s highest peak, Gaurlata, located at the northern end of Chhattisgarh in Balrampur district, is an incredible place from the perspective of tourism. Following instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the district administration is busy chalking out a detailed plan to develop it as a tourist destination.
An official communiqué on Monday said that Gaurlata, at an elevation of 1,225 meters above sea level, showcases spectacular views of diverse forest regions at the borders of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. Many caves and natural waterfalls are located on these hills. After being declared a tourist destination, this place will be promoted in a better way, the communication said.
Gaurlata is a favorite destination with mountaineers and popular among trekkers.
Tourists now face difficulties due to poor roads.
