The Delhi Government on Wednesday took stock of healthcare arrangements in lieu of the G-20 Summit scheduled in the national Capital next week. Five Government and three private hospitals have been kept on high alert with formation of 80 teams of doctors and nursing staff.
These include primarily Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Hospital, GTB Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital, along with Primus Hospital Chanakyapuri, Max Hospital Saket, and Manipal Hospital Dwarka. Besides a total of 106 fully-equipped ambulances have been readied with all advanced facilities.
According to Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, out of these 80 teams, 75 teams will work in shifts. Each hotel has been assigned three teams, each working in eight-hour shifts. These teams will remain dedicated to serving our incoming guests 24/7 according to their respective time schedules. Additionally, five backup teams have been kept in reserve. “If any difficulty arises or if any doctor or nursing staff is unavailable for any reason in any team, the doctors and nursing staff from these five backup teams will be deployed,” he said.
Earlier Bhardwaj conducted a review meeting attended by the Health Secretary; Special Secretary, DHS; Director General, Health Services; Medical Director, Lok Nayak Hospital; Medical Director, GTB Hospital; Medical Director, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital; Medical Director, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital; Medical Superintendent, Nursing Homes DHS (HQ); In-charge, Disaster Management Cell DHS (HQ); among other high-ranking health officials. Alongside health department officials, senior officers from various major hospitals in Delhi were also present.
Bhardwaj in a Press statement said Kejriwal is paying utmost attention towards the successful hosting of the G-20 Summit.
Arrangements have been made for foreign guests coming for the Summit to stay at various hotels across Delhi. The teams will serve all guests in these 25 hotels.
Bhardwaj explained that Lok Nayak Hospital has reserved 20 rooms, GB Pant Hospital has reserved 10 rooms, GTB Hospital has reserved 20 beds, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital has reserved 65 beds, and Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital has reserved 40 beds for addressing any situation that may arise during the G-20 Summit.
