Friday, 17 March 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

A delegation of Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) today met Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan. During the meeting under the leadership of FJCCI President Kishor Mantri, the delegation positively discussed the role of trade and industry in the economic progress of the state. The Governor discussed the industrial policy points for industrial development in the state and setting up new investments. Issues of tourism development, education, health and law and order were also discussed.

The delegation also talked about taking necessary steps for maximum employment generation in the state, especially for the uplift of small scale industries. The Governor asked the FJCCI to make continuous efforts to further improve the business and industrial environment in Jharkhand.

The FJCCI delegation thanked the Chief Minister, the Health Minister as well as the entire Cabinet for approving the draft of the Jharkhand Medical Protection Act keeping in mind the safety of the doctors along with the proposal to reduce the holding tax. FJCCI President Kishor Mantri said that an atmosphere of happiness has arisen in the State due to the approval of the municipal property tax amended bill. We are happy to know that as per the decision of the cabinet, holding tax can be reduced up to 20 per cent in Ranchi and up to 30 per cent in some cities, which is a welcome decision. Maximum number of residents of the state will be benefited by this decision of the government (especially Dharamshalas, charity institutions which are involved in social service works).

FJCCI General Secretary Dr. Abhishek Ramadhin said that thanks to the Chief Minister and the Health Minister for the cabinet's acceptance of the Chamber's years-old demand to implement the Medical Protection Act in the state. We have full faith that soon the government will pass this bill in the House and make it a law.

The Chamber delegation included Vice President Aditya Malhotra, Amit Sharma, General Secretary Dr. Abhishek Ramadhin, Co-Secretary Rohit Poddar, Shailesh Agarwal and Treasurer Sunil Kedia.
