As part of its ongoing efforts to integrate its various schemes with digital technology, the Yogi Adityanath government has now made its ambitious scheme ‘Family ID: One Family, One Identity’ live on DigiLocker.
This means that all individuals in the state who have registered for a family ID, will be able to access it on DigiLocker through their desktop or mobile phone.
The purpose of the family ID is to improve the coverage of schemes by identifying eligible beneficiaries, removing duplicates and fake beneficiaries, and simplifying the application process for citizens by reducing the burden of documentation in various unused schemes.
A presentation was made before Chief Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra, providing information about making the family ID live on DigiLocker.
In the presentation, it was explained that the Family ID digital card has been made available on DigiLocker for the convenience of the citizens of the state. This card will contain the complete data of the beneficiary and their family.
It was also mentioned that the Family e-passbook was ready for all families in the state to enable them to access various schemes and their benefits. The Family e-passbook has been developed for improved visibility and awareness, and will help eligible beneficiaries explore potential schemes.
To access the Family ID, one will need to log in with their Aadhaar number. Once logging is done successfully, the home screen will appear. Afterward, one can access important things like family details, scheme ledger and benefit ledger. Furthermore, one can also explore potential schemes for family members, or oneself. The complete information about the schemes will also be available in it.
The Family ID will operate as a unified database to unlock proactive scheme delivery to the people of the state. For example, it will help them avail the benefits of basic and secondary, higher and technical education and skilling and vocational schemes in education. Similarly, under Social Welfare and Empowerment, it can be used in schemes related to agriculture and ration, pension and scholarship and medical health. It will also be helpful in getting employment opportunities, credit linkage and social security under Employment and Microfinance.
According to available information, 4.8 crore beneficiaries have been mapped in the Family ID database across 42 schemes and services from 13 departments. Among the beneficiaries, 3.61 crore ration cardholder families are already part of the NFSA database. Their ration card number is their Family ID. For non-ration cardholder families, provision has been made to register under the Family ID, and 1.42 lakh applications have been received, with 55,000 families having created a Family ID.
