Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday inspected the construction work of Shaheed Smarak, Aryabhatta Science Centre, FIFA Approved Football Stadium and 200 bedded capacity building in Civil Hospital under construction at Ambala Cantonment.
He directed the Superintendent Engineer of the Public Works Department to ensure that the work on all these projects is expedited and now he will inspect every week to review the progress of the development works.
Vij inspected the Shaheed Smarak being built on GT Road. The Superintendent Engineer informed the Home Minister that tenders related to artwork in the memorial have been opened and the process of allotment is underway. An amount of Rs 149 crore is proposed to be spent on work related to artwork. The Home Minister directed the Superintendent Engineer to expedite the pending work at the earliest. He directed the officer to increase the number of workers and ensure that they work around the clock. He took information from the Superintendent Engineer for better drainage of water from the Smarak. Thereafter, the Home Minister inspected the Aryabhatta Science Centre.
While taking information from Superintendent Engineer about the daily work report, he directed to increase the number of labourers and complete the installation of sheets, chairs, lighting and other works at the earliest. The officers informed Vij that soon an athletic trough will also be installed in the stadium, which has been imported from Italy.
The Minister inspected the building with the capacity of 200 beds which is currently under construction in Civil Hospital and gave instructions to speed up the work. He informed that a dedicated critical care centre will also be established and other facilities will also be available for the patients in this building.
